  1. Varieties of Translanguaging, Codeswitching, and Linguistic Social Justice - a Lecture by Prof. Jeff MacSwan (Events)

This talk traces the history of translanguaging theory from its inception to its deconstructivist turn, with a focus on the deconstructivist critique of empirical research on codeswitching and other dimensions of scholarly work on bilingualism. It rejects the deconstructivist turn on empirical grounds, and makes the case that deconstructivism undermines the interests of linguistic social justice.
