Data Protection Officer
Responsibilities
The data protection officer is the point of contact for all persons with questions regarding the processing of personal data by the University of Education Freiburg that are relevant to data protection law. According to Article 38 of the GDPR, individuals concerned can consult the data protection officer on all matters related to the processing of their personal data and to the exercise of their rights under this regulation. He is bound to maintain secrecy or confidentiality in order to fulfil his duties.
His main tasks also include advising data controllers on their obligations under the GDPR and other data protection regulations, as well as monitoring compliance with these regulations.
Since 25 May 2018, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has been the definitive legal framework for the processing of personal data.
