There are currently a number of collaborations with various institutions that we work with during the course.

The environment for a sustainability-oriented university could hardly be better: Modern and medieval Freiburg, in the sunny southwest, at the foot of the Black Forest, is an ESD model municipality and received the National ESD Prize in 2022!

Citizen participation has long been a top priority in Freiburg and ecological urban district planning has been practiced since the 1990s. Freiburg has an extremely high cycling mode share and very well-developed public transport, which is very affordable for students.

ReCCE (Research Centre for Climate Change Education and Education for Sustainable Development). Here, an interdisciplinary group of researchers is investigating how effective education for sustainable development and successful climate education can be organised. The ReCCE is part of the international consortium (ICCE), in which 10 universities and research institutions are represented.
