Together with the Scientific Directorate, our Managing Director is responsible for the strategic orientation and structural set-up ReCCE in ways that secure the impact of our research centre in the future. The Managing Director of ReCCE is, in particular, also responsible the professional management and compliance as relevant the centre's activities. Anna Liolios-Zimmermann studied history and Italian at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg i. Brsg. and completed her studies with the first state examination. After completing her studies, she was able to gain a wide range of experience in university project management and administration, what is helpful for her work as Managing Director. Her foreign language skills (English, Italian, Greek, French) enable her to coordinate international research projects.

Mrs. Liolios-Zimmermann was involved in the administration and coordination of the DFG-funded International Research Training Group 2079 "Cold Controlled Ensembles in Physics and Chemistry", as well as in various projects at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Freiburg. As a junior project manager at the School of Education FACE, she has already held an important position in university and cross-university project management and distinguished herself in financial controlling. Her subsequent work as a financial manager in the project management of the international university network EPICUR (European Partnership for an Innovative Campus Unifying Regions) also illustrates her expertise in the coordination of international research groups and project management in the higher education sector. As Managing Director, she therefore has a great deal of expertise and extensive experience in the coordination of national and international university cooperation, in university project management and in the financial controlling of budget resources and research fundings. Thanks to her course of study, she can also refer to a sound understanding of didactic-pedagogical issues and use this knowledge for the further development of the Center.
