Research Group Sexuality

The Sexuality Research Unit at the Institute of Sociology takes a sociological perspective on the topic of sexuality. We view sexuality from a critical perspective as characterised by multidisciplinary and heterogeneous approaches and understand social relations and normativity as an integral part of the analysis. Currently, our research approaches primarily include perspectives of sociology of knowledge and professions, cultural sociology and gender sociology. We are also particularly interested in analysing professional areas focusing on sexuality.             

Against this background, we work in empirical research projects, university teaching and knowledge transfer and pool expertise in the scientific and practical examination of the topic of sexuality.
