I joined the English Department at the University of Education Freiburg in March 2022. Previously I worked as a lecturer and graduate teaching assistant from 2014 to 2020 at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg, where I also obtained my Ph.D. in English Linguistics and my M.A. in English Language and Linguistics. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in English Language Teaching (ELT) from Istanbul University. In addition to university level content teaching, I have over 15 years of experience as a language teacher in other settings. My main research interests include corpus linguistics, first as well as second language acquisition, with a special focus on vocabulary learning and formulaic language.
